October Morning

This is a print of a photograph collaged one a single frame of film using the Holga camera, which is one of my favorite art-making tools. The print is 5 by 7 dry mounted and matted to 8 by 10. The large-format, original print is in private collection and was exhibited in my solo show at the Pennsylvania Capitol two years ago.

Vespers

Again, I used the Holga to compose the original photograph. The print I offer for OWOH giveaway is a 5 by 7, dry-mounted and matted to 8 by 10. The original, large format photographic print has been exhibited in solo and group shows and in nontraditional venues, such as coffeehouses. It is one in a series of photographs, some of which are in private collection. I love the geometry and mystery of this print.

Photographers a DEAD breed?

These days, everyone is a photographer, right? Not so fast.

Photographers need not head to the unemployment office to sign up for job training. Despite the outrageous pontifications (BS) from those individuals who are certain that the prosumer point-and-shoot is turning anyone who owns one into a master of photography, not EVERYone who shoots wants to be a master and not everyone who shoots has what it takes to BE a master. What's more, not everyone who shoots has what it takes to master the art and the science (marketing and sales, for example) of professional photography.
