I am almost done with my metal canvas, which I call "Natural Time." Notice the unpainted nut on the front of the full wheel. It will be painted. I had to make some 11th-hour technical modifications so that the cardboard color wheel behind will spin when one turns the nut on the front of the cavas. So, I have final paint touch-ups and a varnish to complete before I ship it back to LandfillArt inc.
This is a close-up shot. Notice the blue behind spring (pink-based) and fall (orange-based). That blue is part of the spinning color wheel. I did the color wheel to signify several things, including the notions that:
1. Time is always moving.
2. Seasons are cyclical.
Notice also that the base paint (in this case, the pink) was not made with straight brush strokes. It was swirled, as the winds swirl, as time swirls, as the thoughts in my head swirl ;-)
Individuals who collect my art and folks from my home country know that I do a lot of place-based work and that I love making art with found and recycled objects.
I should be finished with "Natural Time" in a day or two. Then off to LandfillArt it goes.
Meanwhile, remember "Indecent Exposure," the VERY RED special edition of my Fashion Statement paintings? It's toned down a bit insofar as the red and toned up a bit insofar as my commentary on the canvas. I'll share images of this soon.
