Verbal and Visual

As I continue to draft "Simple Geometries," I think about whether these paintings are too simple, too minimalist to be "me." Then I see things like the Sol LeWitt retrospective and I feel better about what I am doing.

I recognize that one of my weaknesses is over-thinking things and one of the reasons I decided to do "Simple Geometries" is to break my pattern of over-thinking EVERYTHING. What's really funny about this habit is that in my younger years, I thought much less about the consequences of my actions, reactions, art, writing, ANYTHING and celebrated the art of improvisation. I lived for the moment, in the moment, of the moment. My whole life was a happening!
